Tell us about a teacher who inspired you…Google for Education

The teacher who inspired me the most was my fourth-grade teacher. His name is Mr Davis, and he was an incredible, incredible educator. Before him, I pretty much hated school. Mr Davis really made school fun. He talked to us about real-world issues. I remember being in a fourth-grade
classroom and debating things like evolution and cloning. He also made school very real-world, and really challenged us, the students. I appreciate him, and he definitely changed my trajectory. So, I’m kind of cheating on this one but the teacher who inspired me the most is actually my mum. She was a public school teacher for 30 years and I got to see the love and dedication she poured into her craft day-in and day-out. and she’s the reason why I became a teacher. The teacher who inspired me most growing up was Diane Sternberg my fifth-grade teacher. The reason that she was so inspiring
was because her excitement was absolutely infectious. She would show this just daily, every minute. I mean, even when she asked us what we were
gonna have for school lunch that day, she was super excited. One of the memories I have that I then copied when
I was a teacher was of her reading aloud Roald Dahl’s ‘The Witches’ to our class in her fake Transylvania accent. I remember when I read that to my students I did my best impression of her. [Music]
