Teaching In Kuwait vs Teaching In Dubai

I’ve taught all over the world and… I’d like to take this opportunity to compare my experience in Kuwait versus Dubai All different kinds of things we could compare here we could compare the students, we could compare the schools, the countries, those 3 things now, my experiences in Kuwait and Dubai were two totally different experiences and to give you an idea… my school in Kuwait was an international school it was a very very good… very good school, very well run it was being run very well and it was ran very well my school conversely in Dubai was not an international school and it was different okay so it’s day one, it’s about 7:30 in the morning I’ve arrived at my new school uhh… I’ve been told nothing so I’m just sat in the staff room waiting to be told where to go, what to do not sure what’s going to happen, not sure what classes I’m teaching, what my timetable is don’t know what grade I’ve got… my experience in Kuwait was good enough to keep me there for only one year but, you know, I did a year and I really enjoyed it the country… I loved Kuwait it was first glimpse into real life in the real Middle East and I really embraced it and as most of you might know, if you’ve seen these two videos, I enjoyed my time there teaching in Dubai was a different experience Dubai as a (city) is more comfortable to live in there are buses, there are trains, there are resources, there are services the hospitals are fantastic although I never went to a hospital in Kuwait so maybe they’re fantastic in Kuwait too the students… there’s no difference between the students, I taught a lot more nationalities of students in Kuwait given the fact that it was an international school and in Dubai I just taught all UAE students so it was a different experience now, if you’re working in Kuwait or living in Kuwait and you’re thinking of moving to Dubai then you will have a pleasant surprise if you’re from a a big city in, I don’t know, the U.K. or the U.S. or something then… Dubai will feel a lot more comfortable to you, you’ll feel a lot more at home there this ladies and gentlemen is Dubai Kuwait is a lot more Middle Eastern in that you don’t get those same comforts sometimes you step out of the door and you get dust like this it’s about 38°C at the moment yes there are tons of restaurants and there are things to do in Kuwait but in Dubai like I say, you can walk out, you can easily get a bus, you can get a taxi malls everywhere but the main difference about Dubai is that there are just so many expats there such a huge expat community, you wouldn’t believe it that you feel very, very at home very quickly in Kuwait, two thirds of the country are expats, so again it’s large but in the UAE as a whole, I understand it’s about 9/10 so 90% of the residents of the UAE aren’t actually citizens my experience of teaching in Kuwait was a positive one it’s a stunning country and there are things to see and do and I found the whole thing… the whole experience, very very eye opening and just interesting to see how a different country lives and how they function and my experience in Dubai was less eye opening, less fascinating because it was more of what I already knew my advice would be go to Kuwait and then go to Dubai, go to them both go and see the whole Middle East, live in the Middle East and see it for yourself Both Kuwait and Dubai are both very family friendly if you have a family and you want to raise kids there… do it you’ll never go to a safer safer country, one with a stronger society and all the facilities and the infrastructure in place to give your family what they need honestly my experience of Kuwait was good, my experience of Dubai was good there’s lots to do in Kuwait but there’s even more to do in Dubai go to them both, see them both and then share what you think about these countries down below Thanks for watching this video I’m Arabic Mike more videos there and there and you can subscribe to this channel here thanks for watching, take care, byebye!

  4. dubai is way better in everything…and you can have a freehold House or flat there…but it's not allowed in Kuwait…mall's way better and the government services is the best in class worldwide…and dubai airport that's different story…for future life for you and your family…dubai is the best

  8. I've been to both countries and if I'm honest with you, I would say I like Kuwait better.
No hate on Dubai though, I've been to Dubai on New Years by the Burj Khalifa and it's great!
But I just enjoy Kuwait much more because the food is great, the heat is great in my opinion, and I love how Kuwait is not afraid to show their religion.
Dubai is amazing, too, but I just think they try to impress the people from the west more.
Either way, I LOVE both, probably my favorite places on Earth, but I prefer Kuwait.

  9. I' lived in Dubai for 12 or more years. I went there as a child and did my entire schooling there. I have always felt UAE more of my home country than India.

  10. Most teacher contracts are 2 years – which when you said you only taught in Kuwait for 1 year …. alarm bells rang… Can I ask why?

  12. Dubai is more like a Los Angeles or New York of Arab and more frankly Kuwait is a normal not so beautiful in some parts but I do have to agree it’s more fun

  14. The reason is that Dubai does like an American, but Kuwait has distinctive things and Dubai has provided foreigners with wine and pork so foreigners enjoy there but Kuwait is a province.

  16. great video. Can you tell me what subject did you teach in Kuwait? Did the school provide accommodation for you? How was your accommodation etc?

  17. I feel like you favor Kuwait over Dubai, Kuwait is my country I have my opinions about the negative things and it can be solved easily and it can be one of the best countries to live in , I hope in the future Kuwait stand out very strong among others however there’s always some bad people benefiting from the negative things and they don’t want it to be changed

  18. I'm from India but l love Kuwait so much Bcoz of my whole experience was superb in this country …..hey bro i need your help which School is better in Kuwait i want to apply for the teaching….. i have a master degree …I'm 26 years old girl …..please help

I Love Kuwait and emirates 🇦🇪💕

  21. Kuwait 🇰🇼 🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼 is strong 💪 like if you agree
You don’t have to just comment

  22. What did you teach? I’m being interviewed for a teaching job in UAE. Do you have any tips for landing a job a doing a good job?

  23. FYI Kuwait has the largest mall in the entire Middle East “The Avenues” and many other smaller ones each of them is breathtaking, luxurious, and with an amazing sea side view for some of them ….
The buses there are known to be used by only workers … you’ll never see a Kuwaiti taking a bus not even a tourist unless they’re new and don’t know a thing about the system, Kuwait is one of the countries where it’s better and more comfortable to rent your own can.
You need to make some Kuwaiti friends to show you around Properly .. the same thing with UAE try to meet some native people.
One more thing.. Dubai is only one empire out of seven, it does not represent the UAE as a whole, it’s not even the Capital! You really need to know about the countries from their people

  24. Do you need a university degree to teach english in the Gulf states? I grew up in Canada so I speak native English but I only have a college advanced diploma unrelated to language. Can I still work as an english teacher in a gulf country?

  26. Dubai is the best forever, And you said something wrong The population of the UAE is 70% indigenous and the rest are non-Emiratis good luck bro❤️❤️❤️❤️🇦🇪

  27. well thanks for sharing your experience im Kuwait. And i would like to apologize for any inconvenience you might have found wether it was from the bad infrastructure or the people's rudeness. Not that Kuwaiti people are rude, but there are always ths bad in any good. 🙂 have a pleasant journy

  28. Kuwait soon will be like Dubai but BETTER btw I’m Kuwaiti and I love kuwait so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  29. Do you go Avenue mall in Kuwait and you visit Kuwait tower and do you visit al hamra tower and many things in Kuwait you don’t visted

He he compares a Kuwait city and Dubai City not Kuwait state
Kuwait as a states has a few cites far a part
Like Al Jahra Al Ahmadi & Sabah Al Ahmad which 80 km a way from the capital Kuwait City 🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼

  31. Sounds like you prefer structure? especially sitting waiting for a your assignment and class, extremely frustrating, to me. I think I completely understand, young man. Thanks

  32. Hi…which subject u r teaching ….and teaching certificate is important to get job in gulf county. ….

  33. I don’t understand why do u show the places in kuwait in like a negative way as if it’s poor when it’s not. Have you ever visited the avenues (a mall) or went to the green island ?
    All are pretty good.
Plus most of the people who aren’t kuwaitis but live in kuwait say that it actually feels like home because the people there are so welcoming and it’s really safe.
