Register using the OrderLink on your school’s website

Hello and welcome. My name is Christine and in this video I’m going to show you how to register for a Parchment account using the link on your school’s website. When you click on the link you’ll see a page that looks like this – with the name of your school here. If you do not see your school’s name here and you see a different sign up page like this one, this video will not apply to you. You can still sign up for an account easily but the process is a little different. Visit our Help Center at if you have any problems signing up for an account. OK, so let’s look at this first page. You will leave new user account signup selected and you may see a message here if your school has included a message. You can probably leave this alone too. However, if you did receive a registration code from your school in an email or handout, select I have a registration code and follow the instructions to sign up. You will enter your name here if you’ve already graduated and your name has changed since you attended the school (for example if you got married and changed your name), make sure that you enter what your name was while you attended the school here. This is a good time to tell you a little bit about how it works when you order a transcript. Parchment does not have your transcript. Your school does. Your school needs to know who you are so that they can upload your transcript to Parchment when you do place your order. Make sure that you have entered your name correctly up here. For example don’t enter Eddie if your school has you registered as Edward. Or down here. If you’re a parent or guardian who is registering for an account to request transcripts on behalf of your child check this box here. Enter your date of birth and the years you attended or will attend. Here you will select which grade you are in or select one of these other options. Some schools may also ask for the last four of your social security number or your student ID. Enter your email address and your password. Finally, here you can select if you’d like colleges and scholarship programs to contact you. Select yes if you’re interested or no if you are not. Here you will select if you’d like to waive your right to read your school reports or letters of recommendation. You can read more about this here. You’ll see one more check box here. If you keep the selected this means that your school will send you an unofficial copy of your current transcript. It will be stored on your dashboard in your Parchment account like this. When you click it you can view it but also you can use these icons here to share some of the information from your transcript on Facebook or Linkedin for example. Click Save and continue. Finally if you have selected yes about wanting colleges to contact you they will need your contact information and a few other things so you’ll need to fill in this page. When you’re ready click Save and continue. That’s it. You’re all done. Your Parchment account is now set up and ready to go. You’ll see that you land on the page where you can order your transcript. If you’re not ready to send your transcript anywhere just yet click on the dashboard and start exploring. Remember if you have any questions go to to visit our Help Center.
