PATRINA: THIS IS THE THIRD OF SEVEN TOWNHALL MEETINGS THAT JOY HOFFMEISTER WILL HOST IN THE STATE. [APPLAUSE] PATRINA: A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR JOY HOFMEISTER, ONE OF HER FIRST PUBLIC APPEARANCES AFTER BEING INDICTED FOR CAMPAIGN FRAUD. TONIGHT’S MEETING COMES A LITTLE AFTER A WEEK AFTER CHARGES WERE FILED AGAINST THE FORMER TEACHER, BUT SHE REDIRECTED THE FOCUS TO EDUCATION AND THE TROUBLE IT IS IN. CONCERNED PARENTS –>>PROCEDURE SAYS, I HAVE 35 STUDENTS, OUR CLASSROOMS ARE CROWDED AND I CANNOT AFFORD WORKSHEETS. PATRINA: TEACHER SPEAKING UP SAYING THEIR STUDENTS WANT A BETTER EDUCATION.>>THE PRIMARY CONCERN WAS NOT AS MEANINGFUL AS A NEWLY COULD BE. PATRINA: THOSE CHALLENGES IN THE CLASSROOM ARE FELT STATEWIDE.>>THEY ARE FEELING VERY STRETCHED WITH GROWING CLASS SIZES AND AS THEY ARE WORKING WITH OUTDATED MATERIALS AND THEY ARE LACKING RESOURCES THAT THEY NEED. PATRINA: BUT HOFMEISTER MADE A VOW THAT SHE AND OKLAHOMA WILL DO BETTER.>>MY DETERMINATION TO PERCENT OF OKLAHOMA STUDENTS IS UNDETERRED. PATRINA: SHE WILL BE IN TULSA TOMORROW AND ONCE ALL OF THESE TOWN HALL MEETINGS ARE COMPLETE, THEY WILL GATHER ALL OF THE INFORMATION AND GIVE IT TO THE
