Albert Einstein once said Everybody’s a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree It will live it’s whole life believing That it is stupid Ladies and gentlemen of the jury today on trial. We have Modern-day schooling Glad you could come not only does he make fish climb trees, but also makes them climb down and do it [10-mile] run Tell me school. Are you proud of the things you’ve done? Turning millions of people into robots. Do you find that fun? Do you realize how many kids relate to that fish swimming upstream in class never finding their gifts thinking? They are stupid believing. They are useless. Well the time has come no more excuses [I] call school to the stand and accuse him of killing creativity Individuality and being intellectually abusive. He’s an ancient institution that has outlived his usage So your honor this concludes my opening statement, and if I may present the evidence of my case, I will prove it Proceed exhibit a here’s a Modern day [phone] recognize it Here’s a fall from 150 years ago big difference right stay with me Here’s a car from today and here’s a car from 150 years ago big difference right. Well get this, here’s a classroom of today, and here’s a class we use 150 Years ago Now ain’t that a shame and literally more than a century nothing has changed yet. You claim to prepare students for the future?! But what evidence like that? I must ask do you prepare students for the future or the past? I did a background check on you and let the record show that you were made to train people to work in factories Which explains why you put students in straight roles nice and neat tell them sit still raise your hand if you want to speak give ’em a short break to eat and for eight hours a day tell him what to think. Oh! and make them compete to get an [A]. A letter which Determines product quality hits great a of meat. I get it back then times were different. We all have a past I myself am no Gandhi, but today We don’t need to make robots-zombies. The world has progressed and now we need people who think creatively innovatively critically independently with the ability to connect See every scientist will tell you that no two brains are the same and every parent with two or more children will confirm that claim So please explain why you treat students like cookie cutter frames or snapback hats giving them this one-size-Fits-all crap [Judge: Watch your Language] Sorry your honor but if a doctor prescribed the exact same medicine to all of his patients The results will be tragic so many people would get sick yet when it comes to school. This is exactly what happens this Educational malpractice where one teacher stands in front of 20 kids each one having different strains different needs different Gifts different dreams and you teach the same thing the same way. That’s horrific. Ladies and gentlemen the defendant should not be acquitted this may be one of the worst criminal offenses ever To be committed and let’s mention the way you treat your employees Objection overruled. [Judge:I want to hear this]. It’s a shame Mean teachers have the most important job on the planet yet. They’re underpaid No wonder so many students are short change let’s be honest Teachers should earn just as much as doctors because a doctor can do heart surgery and save the life of a kid But a great teacher can reach the heart of that kid and allow him to truly live See teachers are heroes that often get blamed, but they’re not the problem. They work in a system without many options on the wrights curriculums are created by policy [makers] most of which have never taught a day in their life just obsessed with Standardized tests they think bubbling in a multiple-choice question will determine Success that’s Outlandish in fact these tests are too crude to be used and [should] be abandoned But don’t take my word for it. Take Frederick J Kelley the man who invented standardized testing who said, and i quote, And I hoped these tests are too crude to be used and should be abandoned ladies and gentlemen of the jury If we continue down this road the results will be Lethal I don’t have much faith in school, but I do have faith in people And if we can customize health care, cars and Facebook pages, then it is our duty to do the same for education to upgrade and change and do away with school spirit ‘cuz that’s useless unless we’re working to bring the spirit out of each and every student that should be our task no more common core instead Let’s reach the core of every heart in every class sure math is important, but no more than art or dance Let’s give every gift an equal chance I know this sounds like a dream but countries like Finland are doing impressive things they have shorter school days, teachers make a decent wage homework is Non-existent and they focus on collaboration Instead of competition, but here’s the kicker boys and girls their educational system outperforms every other country in the world. Other places like Singapore, succeeding rapidly schools like Montessori programs like Khan academy there is no single solution But let’s get moving because while students may be 20% of our population They are 100% of our future so let’s attend to their dreams. There’s no telling where we can achieve This is a world in which I believe a world where fish are no longer forced to climb trees I rest my case. [Applause] Hey guys, my name is Prince Ea and I want to say thank you so much for watching my video But now I wouldn’t know what you think how can we together? Create a more efficient effective and just better future of learning I want you to visit neste.com/preorderthefuture and share your thoughts and ideas on the topic peace… Paradox was here….

  1. I really feel this, I mean every one of my teachers respects me for being smarter than other students but really I’m not my grades just come out higher and I do my homework and get a lot of things right but I hate it. I don’t want to be smart because I can fill in the right answer. I want to be known as the kid who is into Marvel and likes anime, and loves fashion. Not known as the school nerd to cheat off of(witch has happen to me so many times).

    And the teachers don’t care.
They just watch me get bullied in their classroom.
I hope that the school district will take action soon, before it’s too late.

  2. Damn you are completely right, although I had the horrible privilege to be homeschooled which sucked for me, dude you should become president I would vote for you

  3. I feel like at school we just dont do anything beside "learn" useless stuff I will never use for my future my days are literally on repeat like ground hog day, like always wanted to actually do something with my life like act, sing, dance, create, or make the world a better place but school pushes me back so I cant even believe in my dreams anymore or have a chance to accomplish my dreams.

  4. Well someone understands us all the young generation and you made me tell this to the teacher and see how would they react but the video was a little cringy at the end

  5. I wish all schools are like those in Finland, no assignment, and especially they focus on collaboration instead of competition.♥

  6. Parents on my birthday:”Now make your wishes”
    Me: *blow candles*
    Parents:”So, what did you wished?”
Me:”If I tell you what happen, it won’t happened”

  7. A true teachers don't give fish to his students instead the teacher taught them how to fish so that they will have a good living, This tells that teacher can not give us knowledge but can only show the road to knowledge

  8. My rights were taken away when I went to school, as I live in the U.S where we are supposed to be free but instead are enslaved.

  9. I use to hear this and get upset. Then it made it sad, I wished I wasn’t aware because there wasn’t anything I could to change the system. Now I’m inspired because I found something I could do, that’s raise my kids to DO good. I think I was part of the problem because I would only post n share these insightful messages but I didn’t ACT. Faith in God is what helped me. My mind is being transformed and it came from pain and struggling. I’m doing what I can and raising my kids right not by social standards but MORALLY correct. Humanity has a chance.
I said all this to say I’m not going to share on FB and DO nothing. It takes ONE person.

  10. Updating the school system doesn’t mean we want fancy things or flat screen TVs

We just want to be allowed to express ourselves and not be ridiculed or shamed if we don’t get above 85%

We literally get put in boxes and get told you got this grade you can only do this in life

You’ll never amount to anything if you can’t spell this right

Wearing makeup and crop tops is unprofessional

If you go to a job interview like that then you’ll get rejected

Fuck you to the teachers who wanna keep this shitty system in business

And thank you to the ones who motivate me

Because they are trying to make a difference

  11. Dude I swear this guy speaks straight facts, at 11th grade I can agree so much with this guy, but if you show this to anyone they're just gonna say "people like this are ruining our kids" it's a shame

  12. We swallow all the knowledge and Throw it up on the test and call it education. We are given homework on the days that are supposed to be our breaks.

  13. I mean, I get where this dude is coming from, and I totally agree that the education system needs to be overhauled, but whos going to pay for all of this?

  14. Man the only thing I hate about school is that you have to sit down for literally 8 hours a day. We are meant to move and explore but school takes are human rights away. And you can’t do anything about it because it’s the law. That’s why people are depressed and suicidal. My spine hurts everyday from sitting down all day and I can’t stand up cause they’ll tell me to sit down. Life sucks right now. They can at least give us an option to stand up. We’re not meant to be robots man please

  15. I used to be an A+ pupil before I got overwhelmed by certain circumstances of mine and got depressed (I was officially diagnosed). If depression has taught me anything it is to appreciate little victories of life and that the back benchers are just as good as the star pupil.

  16. I come from Finland and u r sooo right se have school that starts at 10 am every morning and we have almost no homework.

  17. “I want to oppose the idea that the school has to teach directly that special knowledge and those accomplishments which one has to use later directly in life. The demands of life are much too manifold to let such a specialized training in school appear possible […] The development of general ability for independent thinking and judgement should always be placed foremost.”
    -Actual Einstein Quote

  18. Literally everyone: teens fall asleep later and get up later than other kids. Can you allow them 8 hours of sleep?
School system: 3, take it or leave it.

  19. This isn't strictly related to the video, but I wish schools used Duolingo when teaching foreign language. It's been proven time and again that it's way more effective than normal schooling. Additionally, Duolingo made an app called Tinycards that functions like flashcards, in the style of Duolingo, and it's completely customizable.

  20. I honestly wonder how the people in charge of how schools work can care so little about their students' education. How about some useful skills, like cooking classes or time management, rather than crap like metamorphic rocks. Cooking and time management are skills that pretty much everyone need, and yet learning about rocks is prioritized, when you only need that info if you're a geologist.

  21. Teacher:Even if you don't listen to me i get paid!!
Student:So money is more important than the future's you can make?

  22. Instead of something like only learning what your going to use for your job such as being an architect learning math, or becoming a language arts teacher. We don’t need math to become a language arts teacher. Ok maybe we need to now how to add and subtract, the basic stuff. But we don’t need all of this algebra and geometry crap.

  23. also one stupid thing about schools
they suspend you because you fight back against bullies

law: yeah it was self defense

parents: good job on standing up for yourself

    schools: 🤬🤬🤬🤬

  24. But you’re forgetting the fact that we could all die of natural causes at exactly the same time at any moment and nobody would realise.

  25. Would you go to school if you didn’t have to? How about going to a website to find out more about working on cars, or starting a business, or how to build a house? My question is, IF you didn’t go to school, what would you spend your time doing? Some people need structure yet some don’t. Which personality are you? I agree with 99% of what this message is saying and I think school ends up being too structured and we hold young folks back from reaching their potential. But imagine the chaos it would create if all students stopped attending and were left unattended during mom and dad’s work day. Nice message, sir, but the whole picture has not yet been conveyed. I’m curious what you have to say next..

  26. I been trying to figure out if a system like this would work, we all know standardised tests are bad for students and each student needs different things what if say there were 10 classes with assined teachers (2 math class 2 art class etc.) 5 subjects in general (this is just for example numbers can change.. obviously ._. ) and everyday for five sessions each classroom teaches the same subject (different in the same classrooms as in while one math class teaches angels let's say the other teaches trigonometri ) (nothing new so far) everyday students come to school they would have to fill out a form in which classrooms they will participate this day (say a student can say choose Math 1 Math 1 again Math 2 and Biology 1,2 And Physics ) (or just Art 1 and 2 and call it a day) (this puts students pressure to schedule their day by themselves and allow for morphing for important days etc.) they go to their classes and whatnot say four years passed and now it's time for graduation there are five performance tests for graduation depending on each class and for you to enter one of those you would have to attend to that class … say 200 times in the year (not that much if you enter the two classes even it would only take 3 months to get the requirment) and then you take a test spicefically designed for one subject, say it's the math test and the student is qualified, he/she could take a math test to call it simply or say it's the art class test, say the student has two months to create 5 different pieces in different art styles eighter digital or traditional and if a student fails one said test say the math student failed the math exams but he/she also attended biology classes 200 times too he/she can take that test instead and if he/she passes that he/she graduates

English is my Second Languge if there is any Grammer errors please let me know 🙂

    And also something from boyinaband
It’s not the kids the parents are the problem. But if u taught the kids to parent then that’s the problem solved then.
