STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.>>THE LAST TIME THE TRINITY SHAMROCKS HIT THE FIELD, THEIR GOAL WAS TO WIN A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. THIS WEEK THE GOAL IS MUCH MORE BASIC.>>IT’S TEACH, TEACH, TEACH RIGHT NOW. YOU TEACH THEM DRILLS, YOU TEACH THEM HOW TO STRETCH, YOU TEACH THEM HOW TO STAND. FROM DAY ONE, THAT’S WHAT SPRING BALL IS ALL ABOUT.>>IT’S AWESOME. EVERYBODY’S PUMPED UP. EVERYONE WANTS TO HIT, BUT WE HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS FIRST, GET OUR FUNDAMENTALS RIGHT, AND TEACH THE YOUNG KIDS. JENNIFER: FOR THE NEXT 3 WEEKS THE ROCKS WILL WORK GO BACK TO THE BEGINNINGS IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE GAME. THEN THEY’LL BUILD ON IT.>>LET’S TAKE A KID, WHO MAYBE DIDN’T PLAY MUCH LAST YEAR AND IN THREE WEEKS TIME, HE GETS A THOUSAND REPS. SO NOW HE’S A THOUSAND REPS BETTER THAN HE WAS 3 WEEKS AGO. YOU KEEP BUILDING ON THAT. OUR GOAL BY THE END OF JUNE, WE SHOULD BE READY BY THEN. JENNIFER: THE VETERANS GET A CHANCE TO STEP INTO LEADERSHIP ROLES.>>IT MEANS A LOT. I LOVE BEING A SENIOR. I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THE LIGHTS COME ON SO WE CAN PERFORM. IT’S THE BEST FEELING BEING ONE OF THE LEADERS ON THE TEAM.>>NATALIE GRISE WLKY SPORTS.
