Drawing Blood and Saved by the Law Student

(upbeat music) Hi, good morning. Good morning, you have two parking tickets. One is an expired meter on Pearl Street. Anything you wanna tell me about that? At the moment I was pregnant and I was getting blood drawn. Oh, at that moment you mean? Yeah.
Not this moment? Yeah I was pregnant. The parking ticket I already had my baby. You were pregnant. Yeah. That was, all right. And I was getting blood drawn and I put in enough for 30 minutes, I believe and it ended up taking a lot longer, about like two hours. When was the baby born? January 28th. Boy, you were only four months pregnant at the time? Yeah, I was four months. Yeah. I was there by myself so I was up next to get blood drawn so I didn’t want to leave. I think it’s wonderful. I’m not criticizing you. Okay. Did you have a boy or a girl? A girl. What’s her name? Arielle. Arielle. Yeah. Beautiful name. Thank you. Is she here today? I was going to bring her, but I didn’t think I could so I was like, I left her at home. Oh, we love to have kids in the Courtroom. Yeah. She was beautiful. I would have showed her off. Oh, Okay, we’ll continue the case, come back tomorrow. (audience laughing) Obviously I’m gonna dismiss that case. You were taking blood, you were pregnant, you know, things beyond your control. Thank you, Sir. Now you were charged with parking during an emergency. Was the car towed? Yes. It was, how much did it cost you? $106 How do you feel about that inspector because she has the receipt for the tow. Yeah, I saw the receipt when she walked up yes I saw the receipt. She’s already been towed Your Honor I think she’s been punished enough. Yeah So the city will move to dismiss that violation. He’s a softy. He’s a softy for young kids. Yeah, I should’ve brought her then. He knows all about that, ya know. He’s got a grandson that bosses him. Yeah, oh my gosh. You see how big he is? His grandson twirls him around with his finger like this. No doubt. Is that true inspector? Yes Your Honor. It is, yeah. Alright the matter is dismissed. Good luck with the baby! Thank you! The Judge is correct. I do have a grandson, Charlie. However he’s exaggerating when he says that Charlie can twirl me around on his little finger. That would mean that he has super powers and as much as I would love that, it’s simply not true. It’s also not true that he’s the boss. I am the boss. And trust me, Charlie knows Poppa’s rules. Desert comes first, TV is your friend, and whatever happens at Poppa’s house stays at Poppa’s house. We have a young lady who is visiting. She is a, last year of Law School in Florida. I’m not sure what she is doing up here with this cold weather but she goes to St. Thomas School of Law in Miami and she’s home for the, here visiting from Rode Island for the holidays and her name is Julie Vega. Julie you want to come up here? He want’s you to come up. Thank you for allowing me to sit in. Okay Julie just wants you all of you to know that she’s gonna be a lawyer pretty soon and she wants business. Anyway, stay up here and maybe you can help me out with a couple of these cases. Okay? Jennifer Kena. Good evening. Hi This is summons #174096. The charge is Jennifer was going through a red light on Roger Williams Avenue and Elmwood Avenue at 12:41PM. Okay, the motorist approached the red light and made a right hand turn. And this is on Roger Williams and Elmwood Avenues. Inspector Carrigon, I don’t see a sign prohibiting making a right turn. No your honor. She’s in the wrong lane. This is the right hand lane on this side but– Oh, I didn’t even see that. She is in the wrong lane. There are no signs at all– Oh. …On this side of the road. They are on the other side. You also have a parking ticket, lights please, on Clifton street, parking at an expired meter. Are you aware of that? That actually goes back seven years ago. Oh God no. You were driving an Oldsmobile back then, right? Did you have this registration back in 2010? Oldsmobile? No. Did you have this registration? No. No, that’s just from my last car. Okay. So, what do you think about the red light? I see how that mistake could’ve been made. That street seems to be where everybody’s kinda running the light. She’s practicing being a defense lawyer. I can tell that. I didn’t see anybody running the light. I just saw one car. That’s the first one for that intersection for that light. For that light? Oh, gotcha. However, I think that she seems like a nice girl and she’s not gonna do it again. Well, everybody in the court room’s nice. If I used the nice person standard with the exception of Inspector Carrigon I’d have to dismiss everything. I don’t think you did it willfully. No So on that basis I think I’ll listen to Julie and she can win her first case. For the rest of your career I want you to tell everyone that the first case you won was in the Providence Municipal Court. Absolutely On a red light violation. I’ll remember it. Okay. Put that in your resume. (laughter) Good luck. Thank you. All rise and hit subscribe so you don’t miss the latest viral moments like this one. Share these videos and weigh in on the cases. 1. That blonde woman should have been made to take her test and learn again, ran a red light and made an illegal turn also. Looks like she's making up her own rules.

  2. Judge marry judge Judy only saying let the world be a better place 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

  3. yes exactly (Saved by the Law Student) I'm from Egypt and I understood Providence rules and laws because I love this show ,
anyway as I know Judge Caprio didn't tolerance with red light violations because this can be serious for other motorists.
this woman has two violations here red light and wrong turn (as she didn't use the right hand lane) so she should be fined $85 plus $35 the court fees

  4. Quinn won't be alive in ten years if he doesn't lose weight. It's a shame to lose good people just cause they are overweight.

  5. She did use the wrong lane and clearly ran the red light. I am not going on pretty faces or the nice person theory. There is no sign there that says you are allowed to turn right while the light is red, so sorry to say this, but I would have her pay up as she is still required to look around. No sign that it would be allowed, doesn't mean you get to drive trough it. For the wrong lane part, well that one should be very clear, she made in this case a bad situation worse and more dangerous for other drivers. So yes of course she should pay the ticket.

  6. Judge, this time you went to far to be nice, why wont you get a ticket for running a red light, turning from the wrong lane, without even signaling, endagering drivers from behind, and coming across from the side

  7. The Judge is such a humble, generous heart warming man. I must ask what town and state is this at? Makes me want to check it out and even move there LOL. He's an awesome judge. God bless his ❤.

  8. I am NEVER going to Providence. Their entire police force seems obsessed with ambushing people over the most ridiculously petty traffic violations imaginable.

This judge wouldn't be dismissing so many cases if the fines, citations and prosecutions weren't obviously bullshit to begin with.

  9. The City of Providence issued 151,679 parking tickets and raked in $4,485,861 from fees according to the Providence Journal. A Cash Cow for the City there is no reason to find solutions.

  10. Quinn looks like he has a big ego. I may be wrong but he doesnt seem genuine and is acting this way infront of this judge

  11. Yeah Inspector Quinn, you’re the boss..whatever you have to tell yourself 😂😂that boy runs your whole life and you know it 🤣🤣

  12. I wonder if any of these traffic violation ‘offenders’ that gets caught on camera in this court realizes that unless a cop serves you a ticket, you do not have to pay

  13. her baby was born in january, but the upload date of this video is december. is that how long it takes to get in front of a judge?

  14. That woman at the end is not going to cut it as a lawyer if she continues to carry herself that way. Poor presence.

  15. The second woman is disarmingly beautiful. When she smiled and said, "Hi," I would have dropped my coffee cup had I been holding one as I often am when watching Caught in Providence. If she smiled at me like that I would probably tear up.

  16. What can I do to meet this judge? I know, I will come to that city and over speed, it will be too bad, if the judge is on vacation at time of the offence

  17. the bytch made an illegal turn…dumbass….and thus she is guilty… fudge the bytch….the judge was WRONG….the stupidity is rampant !!!

  18. I'm applying to my colleges law school here pretty soon, as the woman's attorney I would have said "Your honor I motion to dismiss the case on the basis that the video is inconclusive evidence that my client intentionally ran the red light. Additionally she made an effort to stop her vehicle before entering the intersection as the light turned yellow she continued to pilot her vehicle to make the turn and only when the light was no longer in her field of view did it turn from yellow to red and then my client proceeded to make the turn, I don't believe my client was familiar with the area in which this footage was taken thus the confusion with being in the incorrect lane of travel. As the inspector stated there are no signs posted that prohibit making a right turn in that lane and the video evidence backs that up."

  19. What a judge. I've been trying to get my kids allowed in the family court for ages, and the tyrants in Dumbarton Sheriff Court won't let them come. Wish I could have this judge.

  20. Wait a minute. The girl clearly ran the red light and made a right turn from the straight only lane. The right turn only lane had a yield sign. She could have caused a crash and worse killed somebody.
I agree with the judge most of the time, but this one he let her off because she has a pretty smile.

  21. I told him I was pregnant too during the time i got the parking ticket. he charged me more fine for saying that … It is not fair. I am just a simple man.

  22. 03:55 the lights are red and the sign of the line on the street show thats only allowed to driver across the road,so double-stupidy.
To let her go is a crime, next time she maybe kills somebody in this way

  23. 1st one had the control to walk out and put more money in the meter…..but she was punished enough being forced t o wait 2 hours in blood drawer detention.

  24. really? it's easy to miss the right turn lane and arrow point straight? it should have been a more severe ticket and plea down. its one thing to be empathetic and give people reasonable breaks, but this court is much too lenient. The lesson is you can drive dangerously and just show up in court, get on TV, and not have any consequence.
