Bongo – Set up Virtual Classroom and Video Assignments – Administrator

Create a virtual classroom session using the
Virtual Classrooms by Bongo integration; or create video assignments and remote presentations
using Video Assignments by Bongo. This tutorial shows how to set up Virtual
Classrooms or Video Assignments by Bongo. Note: To get access to Virtual Classroom or
Video Assignments, you must request deployment using the Service Catalog.
Once deployed, click Admin Tools… …and select IMS Configuration.
Map the Administrator role to the IMS Administrator role,
…the Instructor or Faculty role to the IMS Instructor role,
…and the Learner role to the IMS Student or IMS Learner role.
When you are ready, click Save. From the Org Unit Types tab,
map the Course Offerings org unit type to the IMS Course Offerings type.
When you are ready, click Save. Click Admin Tools…
…and select Roles and Permissions. Now, we will ensure administrators, instructors,
and learners have the required Brightspace Learning Environment permissions.
Let’s start with Administrators. In the Filter by Tool menu…
…select IMS Configuration, then, click Apply Filter.
Confirm the Manage IMS Configuration permission is selected.
Click the Filter by Tool menu again… …and this time select External Learning
Tools. Then, click Apply Filter.
At the Course Offering level, you must have the Launch External Learning Tool Links, Manage
External Learning Tool Links, and Create Quicklinks from Available External Learning Tools Links
permissions. Additionally, these same permissions are required
for instructors. Learners must have the Launch External Learning
Tools Links permission at the Course Offering level.
When you are ready, click Save and Close. Click Admin Tools…
…and select External Learning Tools. From the Manage Tool Providers tab,
…click the Bongo tool provider entry. Take note of the Bongo Launch Point URL.
You will need this URL later when creating your navbar and quicklink remote plugins for
Virtual Classroom or Video Assignments. Review the Security Settings.
All options are required except for Send system username to tool provider, Send system Org
Defined ID to tool provider, and Send system role to tool provider.
Next, add the Org Units that you want to use the integration in the Make tool provider
available to section. When you are ready, click Save and Close. You have now prepared the Bongo integration
so that navbar and quicklink remote plugins can provide your organization with access
to Virtual Classrooms and Video Assignments by Bongo.
