13 Types of (Beginner) Music Students

Excellent playing! There is one thing we have to fix. Your pinky has to be curved! Here let me show you. Mr. Yang, can you tune my violin for me, please? How did you practice? I didn’t know how to tune, so I didn’t practice. So yesterday our teacher told us about the Egyptian pyramids! They are thousands years old! And the pharaohs have a lot of treasures and mummies inside! Woah! Anyway can you play for me the piece you have been practicing? Do you think mummies play violin? Yes, they play violin. Wait, wait, wait, wait! You do realize that the first part you need to save bow for the A otherwise you can’t really hear the… Son of a… Okay, so last time we learn how to use the first finger… Today I am going to show you how to use the second and the third finger on the A string. I want to play frozen. *Brett is frozen* Sure. Very good playing! Can you just hold the scroll a little bit higher? Maybe just to where your nose is. Past your nose there. Move your elbow a little bit less because your string crossings are going a bit too far. I can’t do it. I can’t do it! It’s too hard… It’s too… hard… Just try… I can’t do it! It’s too hard… It’s too… hard… Hehehe Yeah, just make sure you don’t touch the two strings when you start. Can we start with your second piece that you learn last week? Why are there two light bulbs? Because… There’s just… I.. I don’t know… There’s just two bulbs… Anyway, can we start your piece? I once had a Pokemon called Bulbasaur. I named it Bulby. Why are there two light bulbs? So what can you do to improve this bit? I don’t know. Do you know what forte means? *Shrugs* So did you practice this week? Uh… I had soccer training… My hand hurt this week… Oh… We went on a family trip to the… Family trip is important. It’s good… It’s always good to hang out with your family… My curfew is at 9pm so I had to sleep. Sleep is important. I had a lot of school. How about this? For next week, just try to do five minutes of practice. That means less than one minute a day. Do you think you can do that? I don’t know. So can I hear the Bach that we started learning last week? can i iron yo shirt Well okay, well, I think maybe for next week we can learn the fugue for the second week. I’ve already learned it. Wow. I wish there were more students like you. That’s cause I don’t exist. Yup. See you next week. Bye sir!

  1. I'm the last student lol. I love practicing and memorizing music even if i don't have to. I practice 6-7 hours everyday. Violin and viola.( I started viola 2 months ago and violin 2 weeks ago, and my teachers want me to try out for western regional orchestra) <3

  2. I’m an eighth grader and we have a kid in our class who still plays like a beginner even though he’s been playing for 4 years…

    It’s me

  3. I am semi-pessimist and teachers dream. I am currently the best middle school hass and am only 12 and in 7th. I always think I mess up and I think im not as good as others think

  4. This is a list of which music students I act like the most. Also, you're missing 6. WHERE IS 6?
    1. Me in piano lessons, can't follow instructions
    2. I can't tune my instrument, last time I tuned a violin I broke a string
    3. I talk too much in my piano classes
    4. No. It does not happen. I just stand in silence like I'M TERRIFIED FOR MY LIFE.
    5. I don't know any pop songs.
    6. WHERE IS IT?
    7. No.
    8. I'm a pessimist.
    9. No. I go to lessons because my parents force me to. But at least I try XD
    10. That's how my teacher feels all the time. Because I look at the ceiling when I play piano.
    11. No. My parents force me to go when I have a fever.
    12. No.
    13. Yes. It happens to me. My piano teacher wanted me to count out loud. I lost my voice and had a fever and still went to the class.
    14. No way. I am not like that.

  5. My voice teacher tells me that “if I say I can’t do it, then I must do 15 push-ups” and I never did any push-ups 😤

  6. I can relate to the pessimistic one.
Everytime I make a mistake I cry in the corner and my teacher was like "it's okay… it's okay… let's try again"

  7. I was the student who went through the practice book and played only whatever I liked the sound of and never actually practiced and also I played with my cat before practice every time forgetting he was actually allergic to cat hair. Gosh. I made his life miserable. It sucks being a techer

  8. When I used to play the violin I was really unfocused. I’m sure my teacher hated me.but now I play the saxophone and I think I’m kind of good.

  9. 0:21 when I tried to teach the recorder to kids, I told them to breathe lightly and this is the exact type of students i get

  10. Dont tell me I'm the only one who got an add for a 'Master-Class' lesson with freaking Itzhak Perlman 😮😂😂

  11. I'm the one that is so bad BUUUUUUUUT when he has to play in front of people he is pUrFeCt because he imagine his crush is in the room and the teacher almost cries when that student play (yeah french people are strange yeah….)

  12. The only time you get that last one, is when you're teaching but not ready to be teaching, and they're about to overtake you in skill.

  13. Personally I was actually the Teachers dream beginner student im only in my second year of playing im 23 in 2020, and yes I do exist
